The Utah Birth Place -
Stacey Green
Stacey Green has lived in Utah her whole life. She has been married to her husband Dwayne for 17 years, they have three children. Claire is 15, Kayla is 12, and Gavin is 9 years old. While in labor with Claire she realized how unprepared they were to actually give birth. They had taken all the classes at the hospital but not really prepared how to help with labor. While in labor, her husband was having a nap in the room, she was walking the halls with her sisters. Her sister said "you know there are people that do this right? They are called doulas" At that point she was hooked. She learned everything she could about doula work and birth. She struggled with breastfeeding all three of her children and needed more support but when she talked to her OB about it, they just said sorry and wrote her off. She waited until her son started preschool and started her certification to become a doula. She has now been in business for five years. She loves doula work and goes to all of the trainings she possibly can. She is the treasurer of the Utah Doula Association and in October 2023 she opened The Utah Birth Place in Provo, Utah.
